How to maintain good oral hygiene:
Good oral hygiene keeps your mouth and teeth clean which prevent bad odor, dental problems and diseases.
Plaque is the most common and easily accumulated bacteria on teeth. Sugary and starchy foods mainly cause plaque but so is the failure to brush your teeth and floss religiously. If plaque stays on teeth for a long time, it may cause tooth decay and gum problems. Untreated gum problems can cause further damage by destroying the bone around the teeth making it loose.
Brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day are classic yet the most effective ways to prevent plaque formation. Make sure to choose soft-bristled brushes that fit your mouth correctly to be able to reach all areas. Also opt for toothpastes that are antimicrobial and contains fluoride. People usually tend to skip flossing because of time constraints and laziness, but it should not be the case. Floss at least once a day to remove particles between your teeth that your toothbrush failed to remove. You may also practice rinsing with a mouthwash to increase protection from germs.
We provide following services to maintain your oral health:
Oral prophylaxis
This is also called professional teeth cleaning. Oral prophylaxis is the basic step to making your teeth healthy. This procedure removes tartar and other elements stuck in between your teeth that can’t be removed by normal tooth brushing. To keep your teeth we recommend prophylaxis twice a year. For further protection and maintenance, we will also recommend at-home oral hygiene ways and preventive treatments as needed.
Wisdom tooth/teeth
Wisdom teeth generally requires removal if there is not enough space for it to erupt in the mouth. In such cases, it often tilts in an awkward position, may get stuck under the adjacent teeth, cause food lodgement and consequently caries in the same or adjacent teeth. In such cases, we advise an X-ray to verify its position, its relation with the surrounding vital structures and then decide upon its removal.
Oral surgery or extraction
Unrestorable teeth are usually the ones that go for extraction. These teeth cannot be restored because of a number of reasons like tooth decay, periodontal disease, dental trauma or because they are impacted. Some are extracted to create space when teeth become over crowded.
Root canal treatment
This procedure treats infection formed at the root canal system of the mouth. This usually involves two or more visits to your dentist where the infected pulp is removed and the root canal is cleaned and filled.
