White Fillings
Amalgam (silver) fillings in the lower jaw can often be seen when we talk or laugh. But amalgam fillings can also sometimes be seen in the upper jaw. These can be unsightly and can also discolor the other healthy teeth.
Composite (White) fillings are available to improve this. Amalgam is known also to be toxic in large quantities and is banned in some countries.
White fillings, mostly Composite fillings is the best alternative to replacing normal fillings as they match the strength of the amalgam fillings and also are not visible to the naked eye, so you don’t have to worry while smiling and laughing.
However, when replacing amalgam fillings, it is important to check if there is no underlying decay which needs to be treated first before going ahead with white fillings.
If the decay is not too serious, our cosmetic dentist will remove all the decay and restore the tooth with a white (tooth colored) filling.
Our dentists can safely replace silver amalgam fillings with white tooth colored fillings.
